WE’RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT! (PUKEKOS)

Open up the door....squeak! (Open up the door...squeak!) Walk down the road. (Walk down the road).

Coming to a wheat field. (Coming to a wheat field). We can't go over it. We can't go under it. We have to walk through it. (We have to walk through it).

Swish, swish, swish, swish!

Got through the wheat field. (Got through the wheat field). Coming to a bridge. (Coming to a bridge). We can't go under it. (We can't go under it).

Guess we have to walk over it.

Trip, trop, trip, trop.

Got over a bridge. (Got over a bridge). Coming to a tree. (Coming to a tree). Can't go under it, can't go under it. Guess we have to climb it. (Guess we have to climb it).

Climb to the top. (Climb to the top). Do you see a bear? (Do you see a bear?) No! (No!) Let's climb down. (Let's climb down). Do, do, do, do, do, do.

Coming to a river. (Coming to a river). We can't go under it. We can't fly over it. Let's get in a boat.

Row row row your boat, gently down the stream, merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.

Get out of the boat. (Get out of the boat). Coming to a cave. (Coming to a cave). We can't go under it. (We can't go over it). Let's tiptoe inside. (Let's tiptoe inside).

It's dark in here. (It's dark in here).

Is anyone around. (Is anyone around).

I see two eyes. (I see two eyes).

And a big furry body. (And a big furry body).

Let's take a p, p, p, p, picture. (Let's take a p, p, p, p, picture).

Run...It's a bear!

Back to the river...Row your boat across.

Run to the tree.

Climb up... Climb down.

Run to the bridge... Cross it.

Run through the wheat field.

Run down the road.

Open up the door...and close it.

Phew...we made it!

"Hey everybody. Do you wanna go on a bear hunt?"

"No!"

"Why not? Are you scared???"

HIROMI, OUR JAPANESE STUDENT

We have been very lucky to have Hiromi from the Japanese Language School come to visit us for 3 weeks. She does the most fantastic Origami and has shown the children how to make some wonderful designs! What perfect timing as our Letter of the Week is O!
It is Hiromi's 21st birthday today so we made her a card, gave her a little something and the children also made her some gorgeous things all wrapped beautifully in crepe paper! Cookie made her a cake and she blew out her candles wearing the 'birthday hat'!! Welcome Hiromi. We hope you enjoy your time with us! (photos attached)

SPRING PLANTING (PUKEKOS)

Mel has brought some Sunflower seeds for the Pukeko children to plant as it is officially Spring!! The children carefully filled their containers with potting mix and then poked some seeds into the mix. They watered their containers and will watch with much excitement for their shoots to appear.
Mel has also brought some herbs and strawberries to plant and the children have set up a 'watering roster' so everyone has a turn! Keep a check on the progress!! (photos attached)
